The game sends a few anonymous facts about each game it plays, so we can see how people play and tune the game and its AI. There are no accounts, no ads and no cookies, and nothing sent can tell who you are.

What is collected about games

When a game starts, and again when it ends, the game sends one small message with:

It never sends your name, a custom map's name, random-map seeds, online room codes or seat tokens, your IP address or your browser's user agent, and it stores no identifier that follows you from game to game.

Why

To improve the game and its AI: which maps and COs feel unfair, where players give up, how often the AI wins at each level. Only totals are looked at.

Where it goes, and for how long

The messages go to our online-play service, which runs on Cloudflare, and are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Like any web server, Cloudflare sees your IP address when your browser connects; the game uses it only for a moment, to stop one address from flooding the service, and does not store it.

We intend to keep game records for 24 months. Nothing deletes them automatically yet; they are removed by hand, and this page will say so when that changes.

Turning it off

Open Settings (the gear on the front page) and switch off Share anonymous game stats. The choice is saved in your browser. Because the stats hold no personal data, the game does not read the browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals; this switch is what decides. Games played offline send nothing.

Visits

We count page visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify you. It tells us roughly how many visits the site gets and from which countries and browser types.

What stays on your device

The game keeps your settings, your saved game, campaign progress, records, maps you made and the online room you can rejoin, in your browser's local storage. None of it goes into the game stats, and clearing the site's data removes it.
